OCEANSIDE (CNS) – The second spherical of Oceanside Small Enterprise Grants will open to enterprise homeowners at 8 a.m. Monday as a part of an effort by the Oceanside Metropolis Council to maintain small companies afloat in the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, the council authorised a grant program to offer monetary help to native companies impacted by COVID-19. This system is funded with $750,000 in unused funds from the COVID-19 enterprise mortgage program that started in April 2020.

This second spherical of grants builds on the preliminary grant program the place 130 native companies had been awarded $257,000, together with a no-to-low curiosity enterprise mortgage program, a store native marketing campaign, relaxed enterprise rules and a utility aid program.

Grants starting from $1,000 to $7,500 shall be awarded on a primary come, first served foundation. A tiered system that considers the enterprise sort and monetary affect of COVID-19 shall be used to find out grant quantities.

“Small companies are the drivers of financial progress in our metropolis, and this program will get funding to people who want it essentially the most,” mentioned Mayor Esther Sanchez. “We’re dedicated to serving to our companies survive by this difficult time. I’m hopeful that Oceanside eating places and different small companies will regain the robust momentum they’d earlier than the pandemic.”

Oceanside is partnering with MainStreet Oceanside and the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce to handle this system and disburse funds to eligible Oceanside companies. MainStreet will take functions for downtown companies and the chamber will take functions for companies elsewhere within the metropolis
