A New Mexico girl charged with felony battery after being accused of coughing on a well being care employee in a medical middle has denied the allegation and stated she solely lifted her masks on the time
A felony grievance filed with the Santa Fe Police Division by the employee claimed that defendant Pleasure Ebel refused to put on a masks, verbally harassed staff at La Familia Medical Heart in Truchas and coughed into the employee’s face.
Police have been known as to the middle on Dec. 3 and Ebel was later charged with battery, authorities stated. The employee was not recognized.
Ebel has stated she didn’t cough on anybody deliberately and she or he doesn’t have COVID-19. She claimed the incident began as a result of staff on the clinic didn’t like how she was sporting her masks.
“I did elevate up my masks to breathe, from the underside, as a result of I’ve claustrophobia. I lifted it up,” Ebel informed KRQE-TV.
Ebel stated she was suggested to appropriate her masks and after the fourth time was informed she needed to depart.
“She stated I used to be respiration on her nostril to nostril — that’s a lie I wish to see on video,” Ebel informed KOAT-TV. “She began to scream hysterically at me. I don’t know if she thought I used to be going to be hostile, which I used to be simply making an attempt to go away.”
She added: “I didn’t cough. I didn’t get in her face. I didn’t yell.”
La Familia Medical Heart was not instantly out there to reply to requests for remark by The Related Press.
Ebel may face a $5,000 fantastic or as much as 18 months in jail if convicted. She is due in courtroom in January.
Ebel stated she couldn’t afford to serve jail time since she is a single mom with a 16-year-old daughter.
