Tulsa linebacker Zaven Collins has gained the Bronko Nagurski Trophy honoring the nation’s greatest defensive participant.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Collins totaled 54 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss and 4 interceptions. The junior had three sacks towards Oklahoma State. Two of his interceptions have been game-clinchers — a late one towards SMU and a 96-yard return for a landing towards Tulane in additional time.
Collins is from Hominy, Oklahoma and performed for small Hominy Excessive Faculty. Tulsa
The Soccer Writers Affiliation of America and the Charlotte Landing Membership made the announcement Wednesday. The opposite finalists have been Coastal Carolina defensive finish Tarron Jackson, Iowa defensive deal with Daviyon Nixon, Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II.
