The US Federal Aviation Administration is urging airports nationwide to be prepared for flights carrying the coronavirus vaccine even when the airport isn’t scheduled to obtain it.
The company advised airports “to make sure they’re absolutely ready for plane carrying Covid-19 vaccines.”
FAA Administrator Steve Dickson directed airports to make sure supply vans have precedence entry to the airfield, and that satisfactory safety is in place for vaccine shipments.
“This consists of each these airports recognized for shipments that can transition at airports in addition to people who might function alternate/divert airports, even when they won’t be a major vacation spot for plane carrying Covid-19 vaccines,” the FAA mentioned in an announcement.
