One of many many homes competing within the Elkins-Randolph County Christmas Lights Show Contest shines vacation mild on Central Avenue in Elkins.
ELKINS — The primary-ever Christmas Lights Show Contest in Randolph County is off to a glowing begin as residents and companies compete for money prizes that can be awarded by the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce.
A Google Pin Map has been created for residents and guests to the realm who need to view he festive lights after the solar goes down. The map could be discovered by going to the chamber’s web site at www.ercc.com.
The competition could have two classes, for companies and residents. Money prizes can be awarded in each classes, with first place winners gathering $2,000, second place $1,000, and third place $500.
Standards for awards embrace use of sunshine and colour, creativity, originality, effort, and general impression. The shows can be judged by three volunteers and awards can even be handed out for the “Folks’s Alternative” and “Children’ Favourite.” Residents can vote for these two awards on the aforementioned web site.
Awards can be introduced on Dec. 18 and the Chamber of Commerce will publish an awards video on its Fb web page that night. Companies and residents are inspired to maintain their lights and decorations up by way of Dec. 28 in order that guests from out of city might benefit from the shows.
The Metropolis of Elkins and the Randolph County Fee are sponsoring the competitors.
